Billy API integration Beta
With your own Billy access token JaKonto reads the chart of accounts, contacts, invoices and entries and gives them the same fields as from e-conomic and Dinero.
What you can read
- Chart of accounts
- Contacts
- Invoices
- Entries
- Reports and CSV export from the synced data
How to connect
- Create an access token in Billy: Indstillinger → Adgangstokens.
- Create a free JaKonto account and add Billy in the account with the token.
- JaKonto checks the token straight away — a rejected token is not saved.
Example
curl https://jakonto.dk/api/v1/connections/$ID/invoices \
-H "X-API-Key: jk_live_…"
Good to know
- Billy has no documented webhooks, so changes are fetched by scheduled sync (POST /sync).
- The integration is in beta: the fields match the other systems, but we are still adjusting details.
- JaKonto only reads — we don't post entries or create invoices in your books.
One API for every system
- /accounts, /contacts, /invoices, /entries — the same fields, amounts in øre and the source ID in provenance.
- POST /sync fetches changes into a cache, so you read without spending calls at the vendor.
- Reports: revenue, profit and loss, balance sheet, AR ageing, top customers and a dashboard.
- CSV export of invoices, VAT per quarter and profit and loss.
- HMAC-signed webhooks and read-only passthrough for fields we don't normalise.
- MCP server at /api/v1/mcp: AI agents (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor) read the same data with your API key — read-only, plus draft proposals for you to approve.

Questions
Where do I find my Billy access token?
In Billy under Indstillinger → Adgangstokens.
Am I notified when something changes in Billy?
JaKonto syncs and can send webhooks about the changes it finds; Billy itself sends no events.
Does JaKonto write to my Billy?
No. The integration only reads data.
