e-conomic API integration Live
Read data from e-conomic without building and maintaining the integration yourself: JaKonto handles access tokens, paging and e-conomic's fair-use limit and gives you normalised data.
What you can read
- Chart of accounts
- Customers and suppliers (contacts)
- Booked invoices
- Entries per accounting year
- Reports and CSV export from the synced data
How to connect
- Create a free JaKonto account and get your API key.
- Try it right away on e-conomic's demo company: POST /api/v1/connections/economic-demo.
- Your own company connects through e-conomic's access page once e-conomic has approved the JaKonto app — until then everything works on the demo company.
Example
curl -X POST https://jakonto.dk/api/v1/connections/economic-demo \
-H "X-API-Key: jk_live_…"
curl https://jakonto.dk/api/v1/connections/$ID/invoices \
-H "X-API-Key: jk_live_…"
Good to know
- e-conomic allows about 50,000 calls per 24 hours per agreement (fair use). JaKonto reads from its cache, so your own calls don't count at e-conomic.
- Access uses e-conomic's app and agreement tokens; we encrypt tokens at rest.
- JaKonto only reads — we don't post entries or create invoices in your books.
One API for every system
- /accounts, /contacts, /invoices, /entries — the same fields, amounts in øre and the source ID in provenance.
- POST /sync fetches changes into a cache, so you read without spending calls at the vendor.
- Reports: revenue, profit and loss, balance sheet, AR ageing, top customers and a dashboard.
- CSV export of invoices, VAT per quarter and profit and loss.
- HMAC-signed webhooks and read-only passthrough for fields we don't normalise.
- MCP server at /api/v1/mcp: AI agents (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor) read the same data with your API key — read-only, plus draft proposals for you to approve.
Questions
Can I try it without an e-conomic subscription?
Yes. e-conomic's demo company connects with one call and holds real test data.
Does JaKonto write to my e-conomic?
No. The integration only reads data.
Why not just use e-conomic's REST API directly?
You can. JaKonto gives you the same fields for e-conomic, Billy and Dinero, a cache and ready-made reports, so you build one integration.
Where is the e-conomic REST API documentation?
e-conomic documents its REST API at restdocs.e-conomic.com. JaKonto's own API is described in OpenAPI at jakonto.dk/docs — the same endpoints for all three systems.
Is JaKonto an e-conomic connector?
Yes, a read connector: JaKonto pulls data from e-conomic and passes it on through REST, CSV export and the MCP server for AI assistants such as Claude and Cursor.
